I've taken my pets there for many years, but since the staff changed, the experience has been very disappointing. The last two experiences have convinced me not to return. The first time, my dog was in critical condition. After giving me the bad news and a quote of over $700 (which, it's worth noting, turned out to have several incorrect details), the staff went off to make jokes and laugh loudly in the reception area. I don't think that was a professional attitude or appropriate in any setting, knowing what a person was going through just a few steps away. The second time, I went for a general checkup. The initial quote was $350. A bunch of tests without even looking at the pet. They hadn't even done a basic health assessment to determine what additional tests were needed. On top of that, they aren't clear about the costs; they start giving you a bunch of different estimates, all extremely expensive (again, they haven't even evaluated the pet). Often, they offer you a medication at a high price, only to return later and offer you the generic version at a much more reasonable cost. You tell them you'll only choose a few of their "recommendations," and they insist on selling you something else. It's disheartening to feel that all they care about is making money, when it used to be a place that genuinely cared about pets.
I took my pet to the "drop-off" service, and they performed a bunch of procedures without consulting me, only to charge me almost $500 in the end. On top of that, they refuse to provide medication even though my pet already has a diagnosed condition, and they tell me I have to keep going back to the vet so they can charge me for each visit, even if they prescribe the exact same medication again. Finally, they tell you that you have to return in just 14 days to have all the procedures repeated and/or charge you for another visit, even though my pet has had medical records with them for years, they always prescribe the same medication, and they know what's wrong with him.
