Frente al Mar Restaurant

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Frente al Mar was a great little find right along the coast in Vega Baja. 🇵🇷🩵 Let me start with the best part: THE EMPANADAS. 😂🔥 They were absolutely delicious. We tried the empanada de camarones and the shredded beef, and both were packed with flavor. The shrimp one was so good we ended up ordering another one. They are on the smaller side and a little pricey for the size, but I can’t complain about the quality. They came out piping hot and tasted freshly made. The flavor was off the charts. I had a couple of Medallas that came out freezing cold—which is exactly how a Medalla should arrive. 😂🍺 My girlfriend had a piña colada that was very well made and delicious, and the little one was perfectly happy with her Sprite. Service was probably the weakest part of the experience. The bartender wasn’t particularly friendly or attentive, and things moved pretty slowly considering there really weren’t many people there. The empanadas also took around 15 minutes or more to come out, which felt a little long. But once they arrived piping hot and we tasted them, I wasn’t nearly as mad about waiting. 😂 The location and atmosphere are another big plus. It’s a cute little place right along the coast with a beautiful view of the beach, so the name Frente al Mar definitely fits. They also have some fun photo spots, including a little swing with a “Welcome to Paradise” setup and another area with angel wings. And then there were the dogs. 😂🩵 There were several super-cute, friendly dogs hanging around outside, relaxing in the sun and adding even more personality to the place. Yes, it’s a little pricey. Yes, the service could definitely be quicker and friendlier. But would I go back? Absolutely. Because there’s something to be said for sitting by the beach in Puerto Rico with a delicious, piping-hot shrimp empanada in one hand and an ice-cold Medalla in the other. Sometimes you can’t put a price tag on that. 🇵🇷🩵🍺 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

good spot for a quick bite with a beautiful view of the water. the mojitos were delicious, courteous server as well.

Food is excellent (recommend the fried snapper and chicken mofongo), service is excellent, staff are super friendly, all around excellent experience!
