The Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and its Museums and Parks Program invite you to a unique experience. The Guatú Ma Cu A Borikén Taíno Council (Sacred Fire of Borikén) will meet in several presentations at the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Center in Utuado where they will perform Areitos (ceremonial dances and songs) and a game of “batú” for the delight and learning of the people that is here.

They will also have a conversation about different aspects of the history of our natives.

The Taíno Council promotes knowledge and recognition of our Taino culture to anyone who shows interest on the island of Borikén and outside. Through education, we seek to reveal the true history of our Taino nation, customs, language, music, art, ball games and their important ceremonies called Areitos.
