Very nice atmosphere. The live music is an excellent idea. It's interesting that different businesses (Dizzucero, 1945...) share menus. I didn't like the drinks; they're excessively small for the price and the mixology isn't great. The pasta and pizza are very good. It's excessive that the tip always starts at 18%; it shouldn't be mandatory, it should be at your discretion.

I made a reservation at Bodegar to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. The reservation process was very pleasant and the staff was very accommodating. Since we were a large group of 20 people, we were seated at 1950 Condado, which they share with Bodegar. Our food and drinks were ordered from the 1950 Condado menu, and I have to say that our server was excellent. She was attentive, professional, and provided great service throughout the evening. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively affected by the way the additional charges were handled. Bodegar was hosting an event that evening and charging a $10 entrance fee. Since our group was seated at 1950 Condado and we did not attend or participate in the event at Bodegar, we were very disappointed to discover that we were still charged the $10 entrance fee per person. For a group of 20 people, that is an additional $200 charge, and it felt as though the size of our group was being used as an opportunity to impose a fee for an event we did not attend. To make matters worse, at the end of the evening we ordered one additional drink that was never served. When we asked for the charge to be removed/refunded, the manager refused and, unfortunately, his attitude toward us was very disappointing. This was especially frustrating after our group had spent more than $1,000 at the restaurant. The food was good, but honestly, it was not spectacular. There are many restaurants in the area offering better food and a better overall experience. What should have been a special birthday celebration ended on a very disappointing note. The excellent service from our server and the friendly reservation process were overshadowed by the way the situation was handled by management. Unfortunately, this is a customer experience that will keep me from returning. With so many dining options in Condado, I expect better transparency with charges and, above all, better customer service from management.
