El Parrilla

The first restaurant in Puerto Rico serving traditional Puerto Rican food that doesn't over-season (mostly with salt). The crab salmorejo was spectacular, as was the crab rice. The beans were flavorful without needing extra salt. The house-squeezed grapefruit juice was divine, and the tostones weren't greasy; they were fresh. We ordered them stuffed with shrimp and octopus—a delight! The service was excellent. We were served by a gentleman named Michael, a real gem. I'll definitely be back. Support local and good food. 💜

Excellent, authentic Puerto Rican food, high quality, fresh seafood, attentive service, and a festive atmosphere. HIGHLY recommend! We were a party of 12 celebrating an 80th and a 36th birthday. It’s not easy to please everyone, but they did! We ordered so much including shrimp mofongo, land crab and rice, beef empanadas, rice and beans, yellow rice, tostones, a slew of amazing appetizers, ceviche, and I had the Ensalada de Langosta. It was prepared in their house vinaigrette made with extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar and garlic. It was up there with the BEST lobster dinner I’ve ever had. I was also confidently assured by the chef there would be no possibility of gluten cross contamination in the kitchen. I usually don’t eat out due to my multiple food allergies so finding La Parrilla was amazing. Chef was 100% familiar with the needs of people with Celiac and other allergies, so I was able to relax and enjoy my dinner without the anxiety of getting sick while on vacation. They have so many delicious gluten free options, and…. A DEDICATED GLUTEN FREE DEEP FRIER! (If you are super sensitive GF you know what a special treat this is.) There were other separate friers specifically for fish and meat, too. After dinner, not only did they treat my family to a lively bombas birthday song, the party continued for another 20 minutes when my cousin decided to join in on the singing and dancing and the entire place erupted into a party. If I could, I would go to La Parrilla every night! Thanks for the amazing experience!
