Hix Island House

While Hix Island House promotes a unique eco-retreat, (of which I was quite aware whilst booking) the actual service and property upkeep fell short of a boutique experience. Management was dismissive when I called ahead to notify them of a late arrival. The communication failures continued at check-in: a booked massage was never mentioned to me, yet management later blamed me for missing it, claiming the masseuse was waiting for me. My understanding was that this was supposed to be an in-room service.The physical state of the room and amenities also lacked basic standards. There were puddles of water left on the floor, no actual soap was provided, and the continental breakfast was not at all as described .When feedback was shared, management chose to argue and deflect rather than take responsibility. Travelers expecting professional hospitality should look elsewhere.

Beautiful hotel with brutalist architecture, open space, balcony, recliner chairs. Location was close to wildlife, could see horses and iguanas. It’s not close to the beach and bays, but it was easy to call taxis and was worth that night’s stay. The shower head was oddly shaped, which made the shower less pleasant. Manager was supportive, Aaron was really nice for bringing our game console that we forgot in the room to the airport. Hot during the day without AC but at night there’s wind and it was nice

Omg…this place was amazing! It was easy to find. It’s about 10 min from town..so nice and peaceful. We enjoyed everything about it
