Excellent location, with many restaurants and a variety of brunch options, all easily accessible. The front desk staff were friendly but not always readily available as they weren't at the counter. The facilities were good, depending on your room; some areas were damp. The room temperature was very comfortable, but there was some dust on the carpet. It's a historic site with a beautiful building. Room service and restaurant hours should be improved.
I loved my experience at the Meliá Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was excellent, very friendly and attentive at all times. The cleanliness was also excellent, and the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Ponce. It's important to understand that the Meliá is a historic hotel with over 130 years of history, so the rooms aren't as modern as those in a new hotel. However, that's precisely part of its charm and the overall experience. The rooms reflect the essence and history of this beautiful hotel. Although the hotel doesn't currently have a restaurant, Mr. Cookie is right next door, an excellent alternative. Meliá guests receive a 10% discount on breakfast and other items, including their pizzas. They have coffee, drinks, breakfast, and pizza, and everything was very good and convenient. If you're looking for a modern, brand-new hotel, this might not be the place for you. But if you want a different experience, staying in a historic, well-located, clean hotel with excellent staff, I highly recommend it. I would definitely stay at the Meliá again. ❤️🇵🇷
The hotel room was in terrible condition. The bathtub in our room had a drain problem; it wouldn't drain properly. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, and the hot water smelled awful. The TV only had local channels, and the remote didn't work. There was an intermittent noise coming from the ceiling that kept us awake. We could also hear all the street noise. The room wasn't clean; it was very dusty, and the beds, curtains, and sheets were faded. In short, we didn't stay even one night, and we didn't get a refund. It was far too expensive for what they offered.
