Liuba María Hevia, born in Havana, Cuba, is the greatest female exponent of the new Cuban trova. His work blends traditional and contemporary elements, achieving a unique artistic personality. Since 1982 he has been part of the prestigious new trova movement, founded by legendary figures such as Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés, with whom he has shared recording works, with Hevia being one of their most significant voices.

“Thanks to music, an old desire comes true. I will offer a concert at the emblematic Theater of the University of Puerto Rico accompanied by the exceptional talent of the musicians of that blessed island. Puerto Rico! “I am happy and I want to share that happiness with you,” commented the Cuban singer.

Liuba has more than 20 record productions and countless international awards. Her songs are characterized by a high poetic level and beauty, with melodic, rhythmic and thematic variety. Various Cuban genres emerge in his compositions, including free song, guajira, son, bolero, habanera, danzón and ballad. Another specialty is her musical work dedicated to children, performing children's songs of her authorship, as classics from the Latin American children's repertoire. In 2012, she was awarded by UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador, in recognition of her social work in favor of children.

In her concert in Puerto Rico, Liuba, who is always accompanied by her guitar, will have the Cuban singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Yusa as a guest artist; She will also be accompanied by a group of Puerto Rican musicians, under the direction of the renowned Cuban musician and arranger Arnulfo José Guerra, who worked on a special arrangement for the evening with classical string instruments and others associated with popular music and peasant folklore.
