Museo Castillo Serrallés

Castillo Serrallés is absolutely beautiful, and the history behind this place is incredible. Unfortunately, the tour itself was a 2/10 for me. During our tour, we were only shown the main living area, one bedroom, one bathroom, the formal dining room, kitchen, and basement. We were also not allowed to take pictures in most of the areas. The only areas where we were permitted to take pictures were (I’ll add them ) This was especially disappointing because I’ve seen previous reviews and photos from visitors who were able to take pictures and see much more of the castle. As a Puerto Rican, it was honestly disappointing to visit a place with so much history and not be able to capture more memories of the experience. I also would have loved the opportunity to see more of the castle in detail. For example, we were able to see the library from the stairs, but we weren’t allowed to actually go in and explore it. That was one of the areas I would have loved to see up close. The formal dining room, especially the ceilings, was absolutely breathtaking. 😍 There are so many beautiful architectural details that deserve to be appreciated up close. The castle itself is gorgeous and definitely worth seeing, but I personally feel the tour could offer much more. I left feeling like I saw only a small portion of what Castillo Serrallés has to offer, which was disappointing given the price and the historical importance of the place. Beautiful place, incredible history, but the tour left a lot to be desired.

We went yesterday, Friday. The mansion is spectacular. Our guide was excellent. We went to the aviary; they also have turtles. We went to the cross-shaped balcony, but the elevator was out of service. We looked at the plants and furniture; there was a lovely breeze and a beautiful view. Then we went to the Japanese Garden and saw the bonsai trees and fish. We liked the peaceful atmosphere.

Beautiful place with spectacular views. We missed the guided tour inside, but the exterior, with its gardens and the temple, is already very worthwhile.
